James Surls: From the Heartland
The Grace Museum proudly presents "James Surls: From the Heartland", published in tandem with the museum's upcoming exhibition of Surls' latest work.
The large hardcover book examines Surls' transformative move from the woods of East Texas to his current home in Carbondale, Colo., and the impact of his environment on his work. The book features rich photos of the artist's sculpture and drawings, and essays from Susie Kalil, Patterson Sims and Hiram Butler, three of the nation's foremost authorities on contemporary art. Available at The Grace Museum May 2.
